Formerly the Reserve, now simply the Davey Estate and sourced from a single vineyard on the Shingleback estate. For some reason I never get to these Single Vineyards as the vintage is released, but the Cellar Door may have some left if you join the club. My review of the current 2017 is impending.
Shingleback, Davey Estate, Shiraz, McLaren Vale, 2016
Soaked plums with sweet concentrated vanilla, raspberry coulis, blackberry conserve, rosewater, roasting coffee beans and grilled brown spice.
Carrying a supple, generous palate that has a plethora of dark berries and sweet oak. It’s a fuller style well handled with quality fruit.
RRP: $25
Alc: 14.2%
Rating: 18/20 (92/100)
