Burton McMahon D’Aloisio’s Vineyard Chardonnay 2020

Burton McMahon is a joint venture by Dylan McMahon of Seville Estate in the Yarra Valley and Matt Burton of Gundog Estate (Hunter Valley and Canberra). The D’Aloisio vineyard is located in the township of Seville.
As per its sibling, the George’s Vineyard, the fruit is hand picked and the wine naturally fermented. However, this season saw 2 weeks difference in ripening (this was later than Georges) Maturation in French oak (30% new) for 10 months. Bottle image is of 2018, but nought else is different.

Again, this release sees this being the more generous and open of the two wines. citrus mix: lemon, grapefruit, mandarin with a lifted juiciness. Complexity with fig and white bread crust. Robust citrus and white stone fruit in an almost medium frame that holds its shape through mid to back palate. Juicy finish and fine structure.
