Aptly, this was done via a cool ferment for “Not Your Grandma’s Chillable Red.” Old vine Barossa Grenache and Mourvèdre. Clear glass for early consumption and a temperature sensitive label that states: “if you can read this, I’m chilled to <15º & ready to go.” Vegan friendly. Note, label is off 2020, but nothing else has changed.
Chaffey Bros, Not your Grandma’s Red, Barossa Valley, 2021
Lovely deep, garnet hue. Signature floral potpourri and rose petal, cola essence, red berries and earthy blue gravel. Plush and slurpable up front with easy structure, just enough grip, a crunchy finish and a good tang of peppery stalky spice. The fruit quality is evident without sacrificing the fun.
