De Bortoli’s Bella Riva vineyard was planted by the family on their estate at Moyhu on the King River to mainly Italian varieties in 1994. The fruit for this wine comes from the estate vineyard, along with two other small vineyards. Fermented in older wooden casks and a touch of the grape Greco added as well (it’s also Italian). Winemaker is Steve Webber.
De Bortoli, Bella Riva, Fiano, King Valley, 2020
Medium pale lemon colour. Aromas of lime granita, chamomile blossom, sweet/spiced doughy bun and salty hints. A robust weight with plenty of texture and grip that leads to a tight, zippy yet briny finish. A perfect match for a summer BBQ lunch or Tandoori chicken.
