Mr Mick, Riesling, Clare Valley, 2021
Varietal and fun: lemon/lime citrus with a touch of musk/rosewater, blossom and some crushed chalk. There’s a sweet yellowbox honey line that indicates a little residual sugar. Super friendly palate: lightly bodied with a fair whack of that sugar which really rounds out the sharp edges that Clare can have in youth (there’s plenty there, don’t worry). Good chalky texture to close. Potentially the quintessential bistro Riesling.
