John Wallace Wines is Richard and Beth Done’s fledging label, only a couple of years in. Hunter Valley Chardonnay is something that when done right really just works.
John Wallace Wines, Sisters, Chardonnay, Hunter Valley, 2021
Oak, but just supporting and creamy with blonde highlights. Gold citrus with grapefruit, mandarin, egg shell, latte cream, a touch of smoke and rich stonefruit. Not shy, but not fat. Straddling midweight with decent acid crunch, slaking to juiciness, focused through the long, dry finish.
RRP: $35
Alc: 12.9%
