Named after Dame Nellie Melba. The vineyard first planted in 1971 with further plantings in 1987, 1988 and 1990. From one of the finer vintages in the last 10 years. De Bort’s senior winemaker Steve Webber at the helm.

Elegantly sloping shouldered bottle, under DIAM (led capsule). Deep garnet with bright edges. Precise cassis and blackcurrant nose, spiced cedary French oak with a suggestion of sweetness. Crumbly choc mint slice, just baked muffins and new pencil. Some rusticity to earthy, drying tannins that hold compelling power under tightly bound dark fruit. Elegance of suggestion, whispers of future promises….there’s no rush.
