L’Artisan, Le Chardonnay, IGP Pays d’Oc, 2020
Ooof. Full bore Chardonnay. Jersey caramels over ripe peach, some buttered popcorn, white pepper, toasted dinner roll bread and lime marmalade. Body and breadth, savoury and mealy style with worked mid flesh and a little chew through the finish. Fruit feels a little dulled and the finish isn’t a long as desired, but will win fans for an “old school” Chardonnay approach.
