Here we go. Rosé from sud de France. Blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Shiraz and Caladoc (a genetic cross between Malbec and Grenache, developed in the 1950s). Made by Jean-Claude Mas of the Arrogant Frog fame. Bottled under cork. Available here in Australia via Dan Murphy’s. Clear glass.
L’Artisan, Le Rosé, IGP Pays d’Oc, 2020
Pale salmon in colour. Earthy and red berry sweet. Cherries, easy musk over ripe strawberry, anise and clove oil with a meaty chunk. Some gusto through the palate, with clean fruit: cosy strawberry offset with the aforementioned herbal elements. Enough texture with crisp acid bite. Serve chilled.
