Given an aromatic and silky lift with two percent Viognier included during the ferment for this vintage. Note: Bottle image is of the 2017 (still available at time of writing from the website) but nought else has changed.
TarraWarra Estate, J Block, Shiraz, Yarra Valley, 2018
Deep garnet with bright rim. Chocolate, plum compote and dried fig with bresaola-like meaty hints over cool peppery spice. Silky, yet savoury with the Viognier providing the right amount of aromatic lift over fleshy succulence, bite and chew. Returns to crisp class and balance through the back palate with a just waxy guise to the fine tannin.
