Burton McMahon is the brainchild of Matt Burton (Gundog Estate, Hunter Valley, NSW) and Dylan McMahon (Seville Estate, Yarra Valley, Victoria). The Syme on Yarra Vineyard is grown on the red volcanic soils of Seville and planted to the MV6 clone. Note, bottle image is of 2018 but nought else has changed.

Meatier and gamier than previous releases but offset by rose petals and cherry fruit with soft sweet brown spice and hint of blonde oak.  Structure with elegance, textural, tacky tannins thanks to the whole bunch influence. Carries well with a decent length.
