Bishop is the family name of Ben’s mother Judith. 16 Months maturation in a mix of French (90%) and American oak (10%), with 40 % being new and the rest 2 to 3 year old hogsheads. 2020 a year of good quality but little quantity.
Bishop, Shiraz, Barossa Valley, 2020
Bruise purple hue. Slow moving legs from a quick swirl. Gunsmoke, plums, blackberry, sandalwood and licorice with soft caramel and oak spice. Tightly framed and a dark, yet supple expression of modern Barossa with plentiful firm, fine tannins and a pinprick of juicy acid focus. Lingers with echoes of spice and smoke.
