From a single vineyard in the Coldstream subregion of the Yarra Valley. “Naturally lighter in alcohol,” (though still sitting at 11.6%).  Minimal preservatives and naturally fermented in 100% French oak (20% new)  Put together by the talented Tim Shand (best known for his work at Punt Rd wines and now at Voyager Estate). Fourth Wave Wine commits to planting an Australian Native Tree for every 6 pack of the Tread Softly wines sold. 

 

Oaky and juicy varietal Chardonnay nose: Plenty of grapefruit and orange pith citrus. Smoky cashew cream, nectarine skin, a little wet dough and flinty strike. Reasonably structured and offering plenty of white stone fruit and juicy citrus. Creamy mid palate and a touch of phenolics from the oak. A suggestion of sweetness to keep things rounded before required acidity to close.
