I make no secret that Topper’s Mountain have been on my A-List for several years and I’ve enjoyed watching their star rise and rise. This wine sourced from the Hill Of Dreams Vineyard.
Topper’s Mountain, Barrel Ferment, Sauvignon Blanc, New England, 2013
If you can make Sauvingon Blanc interesting, then something must be going right in the vineyard and the winery. Complex and unique nose of coconut cream, flint, green gooseberry, light vanilla and bbq asparagus stalk. The mouth feel is robust and adult with smoky/spicy oak, soft green melon, baked capsicum and lemon/lime butter. The acidity on the finish of this wine propels it long and lean with a crystalline texture. Serve up with a baked Blue Eye pie and you’re in a good place.
