The 21st release of this iconic Western Australian wine. Sourced from the Justin Vineyard in the Great Southern region of Frankland River. Houghton, Jack Mann, Cabernet Sauvignon, Frankland River, 2015
Cool yet intense, like MacQueen in Cool Hand Luke with an almost pulsing undercurrent. So much going on, yet seemingly nothing going on. Restraint shown at all times, not wanting to let it off the chain. Fresh blackberry and mulberry fruit, rose petals, plum drops, gentle leafiness and pouch tobacco with quiet impetus from exquisite tannin. The flavour length is long, delicate with an infinitesimal intrusion from youthful (yet classy) oak. A simply wonderful wine that may indeed match Jack’s innings.
