West Cape Howe, Shiraz, Frankland River, 2018
Earthy cocoa, plum smears, smoky warm toasty oak slices with just enough meaty grunt to give it a second glance. A touch warm and cute on the palate: lingering red to black fruits with a just medium, smoky finish. Full bodied with stretchy, pliant, soft tannins. Made for the here, for the now..and for food: Was a perfect match to a mid week spaghetti Bolognese (and crucify me now: I use white wine when cooking the sugo) and enough to ponder the half glass left over.
