Steve’s words: “There really aren’t many places in the world outside of Piedmont where you can coax Nebbiolo into something that is both fine and varietal ….. I think this vineyard in Gumeracha is one of the very few places in Australia if not the world that this project could work.” Top Gold winner at the 2018 Adelaide Hills Wine Show
S.C. Pannell, Nebbiolo, Adelaide HIlls, 2016
Perfumed: cherry and lipstick, dark spice char, sundried tomato herb/spice and earthy new leather. Excellent grip that belies a silky texture waiting to shine through. There’s a touch of oak, but it can handle it (even give a decant). The layered palate lasts long, taking a wonderful coursing shape. An excellent wine.
