Labelled as from Kongorong (further south than Coonawarra) which is part of the Limestone Coast GI of Australia. This is Di Giorgio’s first release of their Pinot Noir.
Di Giorgio Family Wines, Pinot Noir, Limestone Coast, 2016
Varietal, if simple aromas: cherries with stalky and spice aromas and earthy forest floor. Juicy and easy. Medium-full. There’s milk chocolate oak influence over pure cherry flesh, smoked meats supported by fine tannin. It’s a decent first up effort, if falling a little into dry red wine camp.
