Longview Saturnus Nebbiolo 2018

Beautifully embossed packaging representing the Saturn (God of Agriculture, wealth and periodic renewal) namesake of the Saturno family, custodians of the Longview vineyard.

Longview, Saturnus, Nebbiolo, Adelaide Hills, 2018

Do not judge by the colour, Nebbiolo is notorious for light appearance and heavy hitting. Highly perfumed, floral petals of roses and violets with fine chocolate squares, deep cherry, a little sweaty muskiness, plenty of earthy spice and cooling bitumen. Medium-full, layered body with a cascade of fine, dry, tight-knit tannin and a shriek of acidity to keep things lively. It pours over the palate, akin to quicksilver akin, and leaves with drying pot pourri. Lip smacking.
