Colleen and Mike have slowly transformed Ruckus Estate into Mérite, but most importantly, they’re transforming the Merlot landscape of Australia. Obsessed by ensuring that new clones are put in front of the Merlot drinking public. This one made from a single French clone: the Q45.
Mérite, Q, Merlot, Wrattonbully, 2016
An inherent softness and easiness emanates. Light liquorice with easy black and blueberry fruit with a fine concentration (bordering on essence) with fresh leather, easy chocolate, toasted cereal and soaked raisin. Supple, yet with dark litheness to fine balance of elegant tannin and quality fruit. A serious Merlot.
