Located outside of the township of Avoca, in western Victoria, the Blue Pyrenees site was chosen specifically to be a cool climate site. Early rains for the 2017 vintage have given a lighter structure across the range.
Label artwork for the Cabernet Sauvignon is entitled “Valley” by John Sheehan. Note: Bottle image is a previous release and medals not applicable for the 2017.
Blue Pyrenees Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pyrenees, 2017
Earthy wet tobacco leaf, cigar wrap, cassis and blackberry, cedary oak all presented with a glossy shine and plug of spearmint. Medium bodied, almost rustic elegance of fine, spreading tannin. The black fruit squeezed in tight to a dark yeasty conclusion that’s not without charm.
