West Cape Howe, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Western Australia, 2018
A. Plum flesh, blackberry, mulberry, cool choc mint, some cedary oak spice with a little leafy-ness. Mid palate flesh from the Merlot is certainly a step up from the 2017, while earthy dark choc and savoury olive give some grounding and interest to otherwise simple dark berry fruits. The finish belongs to the drying, sandy tannin without length, but overall executes with balance. Still solid dark fruit value.
