With each release, Taltarni seek to find that sweet spot between immediate appeal and an imbued sense of longevity. The 2017 is still out there, but this release won’t be far away from the shelves.

Taltarni, Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pyrenees, 2018

Focused, round and deep: big hits of chocolate (milk and dark), varietal black currant, cedary oak with a light leafy quality held in place with ferrous steel wool. Smooth entry to the elegant, medium-full body. Replete with plenty of dark berry fruit, tobacco leaf and a long spread of fine-grained tannin. A small spike of heat just takes a little shine out of the finish. Decant for a few hours or leave in the cellar.
