One of three single site wines for Dalrymple, sourcing fruit from excellent plots away from their home base of Pipers River. Here they turn to the warmer, dry, maritime climate of Swansea, situated on the picturesque East Coast of Tasmania.
Dalrymple, Single Site, Swansea, Pinot Noir, Tasmania, 2017
Concentrated herby cherry, plum and blackberry, earthier stony/mineral elements, slight cola and bitter orange lift, with warming Danish pastry touches and pot-pourri florals. The dial is turned up here. Dark and spicy, with almost chewy tannins. Muscular layers of deep fruit that stay put on the palate and don’t feel as they’re going to shift any time soon with plenty of piquant spice. A powerhouse Pinot Noir.
