From the Hughes brothers at the Mewstone Vineyard comes this “living wine.” The Dornfelder grape taken from the White Rock vineyard in the north of Tasmania. Put into bottle before primary ferment had finished to capture the bubbles. Unfined and unfiltered with no added sulphur. Under crown seal.

A lovely deep garnet hue but retains opacity. With a slightly briny, salty freshness over black currant, raspberry jubey fruit, toasted coconut and cool rose quartz. Like a chalky, dry Black Forest chocolate with gingery, briny spice and excellent effervescence to the moreish texture. Fun and right in the zeitgeist, but very well made.
