From the hands of Elena Brooks and Rosie Signer comes Heirloom Vineyard’s flagship Iberian blend of Grenache (60%), Touriga (25%) and Tempranillo (15%)
Heirloom Vineyards, Anevo Fortress, McLaren Vale, 2019
Heady wafts. Lipstick, sand, plums, raspberries, blackberry conserve, garrigue herbs, black jelly beans, espresso coffee. The body sways and moves between the svelte Grenache, approachable Tempranillo and the roguish Touriga. Darkly fruited with plucky spice and dense tannin that takes a little effort to overcome, but perfect for a slow cooked rolled lamb shoulder stuffed with fruits and nuts.
