Summer, apparently isn’t over until all the rosé has been tasted, so here’s another reliable release from Jean-Claude Mas. 40% Grenache Gris, 20% Grenache Noir, 20% Pinot Gris, 10% Cinsault and 10% Caladoc from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. Vinolok glass stopper. Very attractive packaging. Exclusive to Dan Murphy’s stores.
Paul Mas, Le Rosé, Pays d’Oc, 2020
Dusky pink hue. Floral and vibrant. Pear skin, red currant, white peach, white pepper, papaya and a little chalkiness. The palate is dry and succulent with samphire like briny/savoury herbal bite over stone and pomme fruits. More than enough bite to offset the easy fruit. Enough layers through the different blending components pushes this beyond a simple, one dimensional quaffer.
RRP: $18.99
Alc: 12.5%
