Sourced from the Cottage Block, one of the oldest plots for the Dalrymple home estate. Maturation in French oak (35% new). Vigneron is he of the firm, warm handshake, Pete Caldwell.
Dalrymple, Cottage Block, Pinot Noir, Tasmania, 2019
Profound and moving. Dark cherry, exotic five-spice, rose petal and velvet, ripe blackberry, sappy stalk, chocaltey ganache, lipstick wax, vanilla bean pod. Understated, tightly knitted tannins that creep up and are all pervading, peppery stalky spice, toasty oak, persistence in flavour. Balanced and thought provoking. Time will prove me miserly with points.
