Hola! Tempranillo here from the inner and cool climes of Hilltops, NSW. Joven translates to “young” in Spanish, and while Rioja is a long way away, it shows its influence for Aaron Mercer. This is a grape that definitely has potential for the future in Australia.

Medium ruby with a bruise purple bright rim. All young cola syrup and dark cherry with smashed blackberry, black olives, dried tobacco mix, new leather and wine gum yums. Crunchy contrast of darkness and light with inherent slurpability that remains serious with tight, firm tannins. Highly enjoyable.
