Put together this vintage by Louisa Rose after a change in personnel at the Yalumba sheds. 50% of the blend was fermented and matured in new (10% of the final blend) and the rest in 1-3 year old fine-grained French barriques.  Wild ferment  and vegan friendly.

Hill-Smith Estate, Chardonnay, Eden Valley, 2021

Bright in the glass, vivid green highlights. Solid, varietal Chardonnay notes with complexity from nutty cashew cream lift, sliced white stone fruit, a touch of smoky char and grapefruit juice. Youthful nervy acidity trying to find its feet, picking its way through just mid weight creamy richness. Has a hollow halo of texture and acidity through the close that will slowly be filled with development.
