Taken from a special planting on the De Iuliis family vineyard. Vegan friendly. Minimal preservatives, but fortified in that area with natural ginseng, known for its antioxidant properties. Shannon Burgess-Moore the only winemaker using this process that I know of.
Grandis Wines, Earthed, Montepulciano, Hunter Valley, 2020
Cherry bomb, chomped cigar, “Chomp” chocolate, rope licorice, pink salt, dust and ginger spice. A little reductive meatiness that takes a little time to dissipate, but it does. Tight, earthy, dusty and juicy all at once. Protein rich inflections (think mature Parmesan cheese). Bound up. Tense. Peaky. Waxy, lipstick tannins bolster the lingering dark cherry profile. Unique and vibrant.
