Fruit harvested from the Skilly Ridge vineyard, planted by the Ingham family in 1994. Note, even though this release is only a few months old, I’ve been advised that they’ve pretty much sold out and are rolling on to the 2021. Still, there should be a little bit of this out there in retail land.
Tim Adams, Skilly Ridge, Riesling, Clare Valley, 2020
Pale lemon hue. Fragrant buttercup florals with crushed chalk, cut apple slices, sweet brown spice and grapefruit citrus pith. Offering the best of both Riesling worlds with plenty of flavour and textural generosity back ended and girded by intense, long structural acidity. No need to be in a rush if you have some in your cellar.
