Okay, Tempranillo hails from Spain and not Italy, but it fits the brief for the food friendly value that Bellissimo offers.
Serafino, Bellissimo, Tempranillo, McLaren Vale, 2021
Bright purple in the glass. Kitchen herbs, smoked meats, blueberry jam, blackberry, new leather, a touch of anise and hot chocolate. Oak influence is kept to a minimum to ensure fruit vibrancy. Midweight with syrupy concentration of dark berries with a chary bite. Tannins a super fine and only offer a short glimpse of what they could do for the wine with a bit more Rioja-like new oak. It’s best served while bright and fresh.
