One of Longview’s underrated labels. Their aromatic whites in the Macclesfield series and Nebbiolo range get warranted attention, but this one hasn’t changed price for a few years and consistently gives bang for buck. Note, the bottle image is of 2019, but nought else has changed.
Longview Vineyard, Yakka, Shiraz, Adelaide Hills, 2020
Deep garnet with ruby rim. Seductive perfume. Dark cherry, sloe berries and rich cocoa welcoming nose. Biscuity oak with pink and green peppercorn spice. Seductive palate too: lithely moving with silky intent. All dark berries and raspy, fine tannin. Beautifully centred with an assured weight and bright finish.
