Allegiance Wines The Artisan Mataro 2020

Allegiance go to a single vineyard in the Sellicks Hill area of McLaren Vale, planted in 2000 and 2001.
Maturation in new and old (1, 2 and 3 year old) French Oak Puncheons (500L) and French oak Hogsheads (200L). Winemaker is Renae Hirsch.

Deep garnet hue. Hits of briny saltbush and minerally graphite, choc nut oak with plush, raspberry red and blackberry dark fruits, dried tomato powder, baking spices and woody clove. Medium full body with fine, mesh tannins supporting a dark edged and long finish. Ready to go now.
