From old vines in Gomersal, Krondorf, Marananga, Ebenezer and spending 24 months in a combination of new (40%), second year and older French oak barriques.
Torbreck, The Factor, Shiraz, Barossa, 2018
Dark and foreboding. Traditional Barossa rich and plush plum, blackberries and chocolate but with savoury threads: coffee grounds, olive tapenade, leather, brine and bluestone. Old vine depth and gnarl. The minerally driven palate thick with dark fruit edged with that savoury grounding. Tannins of velvet. Impeccable length with surprising freshness and life giving acidity. To be long lived.
