Previously this wine retailed at $20, but the team at Fourth Wave Wine have now made this an “On Premises” exclusive which means you’ll only see it in bistros and pubs. Made by FWW honcho Nicholas Crampton and Tim Shand from Punt Rd wines.
The Hare & The Tortoise, Shiraz, Heathcote, 2021
Bright purple rims lead to a deep garnet heart. Forward caramel, toffee apple underpinned with brown woody spice, mocha, crushed kitchen herbs and a fennel anise suggestion. Slick, plush and silky front with a dry, near dusty tannin profile giving echoes in the coda. Good savoury mineral lick, if hitting the warm side. Carve through a bistro roast of the day without issue.
RRP: whatever the table stand has it at….probably $10 a glass and $38 a bottle in your nearest bistro.
