Harvests are starting in the Hunter Valley, so it won’t be long before 2023 wines are being released. Made deliberately in a more forward and approachable style (but guaranteed to still mature well.)
Gundog Estate, Hunter’s, Semillon, Hunter Valley, 2022
Pale lemon hue. Fresh and jumping lemon and lime citrus with a touch of green apple skin, lantana, lamb fat and a hint of white candle wax. Fleshy and generous with fruit sweetness rounding the edges off the zesty acidity. Open and loose swagger through the palate before narrowing to focus and remind you of regionality with a juicy close.
