With fruit taken from the Freeman vineyard in the Hilltops region. This is the big brother of the two “Hilltops Shiraz” range.
Note: Bottle image has vintage 2016, but naught has changed save for the year stamp.
Gundog Estate, Hilltops Shiraz No.1, Hilltops, 2021
Medium garnet to ruby. Earthy and forthright. Ironstone, fresh turned dirt, dark chocolate, thick plum cheeks, fruit cake, sweet oak and gunflint. Full bodied with blocky, earthy but well presented tannin structure. Plenty of dark fruit with rustic charm and cheeky clip of regional acidity making the finish still well focused.
