Medium garnet to ruby. Plenty of plump berry notes: dark strawberries and blackberries with ferrous ironstone, maraschino cherry, a touch of balsamic, woody pencil shaving oak and a little herbed licorice. Full bodied, with a supple, silky front reinforced with firm tannins. Lingering wild cherry, char, dark chocolate and garden herb on the palate. Enjoyable, but maybe a touch more regional than varietal.
