McLaren Vale and Cabernet Sauvignon is a somewhat odd pairing. While the region gets warm enough for ripening, I’m not sure if there’s anyone who would hang their hat on it being the hero red grape for the region. Regardless, well made wines are well made wines. 12 months maturation in tank and old French oak.

Medium garnet purple. Cassis and raspberry with light notes of fresh turned earth, cedar, after dinner mints and light bramble. Pervasive tannins: wide reaching, tacky and mouth coating. Plenty of blackcurrant, char and vanilla fleshing things out. Fine length and good varietal structure.
