Fox Creek doing what McLaren Vale does well: Grenache (64%), Shiraz (28%) and Mourvèdre (8%) blend. Grenache matured in old French oak puncheons, the Shiraz in old French oak Hogsheads and the Mourvèdre old French oak Hogsheads and puncheons.

Medium garnet purple. Heady raspberry, cherry and plum fruits with fresh paper, violets, clove studs, kitchen herbs and spices. Lovely fleshy texture with plenty of plump fruit and spice all framed by McLaren Vale’s inherent “minerality” with a fine rumble of tannin. Pretty well what you’re expecting from the label and it does it with aplomb.
