Barbera, apparently in Piedmont, is what you drink while waiting for the Nebbiolo to be ready. The bottle and packaging attractively embossed with Jupiter astride an eagle, ready with lightning in his hand. The Longview team are at the forefront of these varieties in SA.
Longview Vineyard, Jupiter, Barbera, Adelaide Hills, 2024

Fleshy cherry, cherry crumble (biscuity, malty base), black tea, raspberry hulls, fresh picked kitchen herbs, dried blood, dried cranberries and deep rose petal folds. Fleshy, firm, attractively flavoured. Hyper fine and tight tannins, intense acidity. Savoury umami studs bright fruit with a well shaped mid palate and long textural tail. Great value.
