Angullong, Fossil Hill, Sangiovese, Orange, 2023
Deep ruby and bright edges. Lipstick, fleshy cherry, balsamic, strawberry tops, raspberry flesh and cane, pickled fennel, topsoil, rose petals and bluestone. Mid weight with plenty of grainy, drying tannins. There’s a varietal rusticity to the fruit and a little garden herb hint to the ripe, dark red fruit, brightened with Orange’s regional acidity. It’s cliché, but best served with pork ragu pasta.
