Montalto Main Ridge Block, Pinot Noir, Mornington Peninsula, 2015
A beautiful ruby colour. Damp plum and cherry, Christmas cake/ brown spice, stalky pepper, raspberry and a smooth Fruits Of The Forest ice cream oak influenced note. Perfumed, bright and slightly sweet. Palate echoes the nose with slightly sweet nature of the oak but delicious, juicy red berry fruit bursting at the seams. Grippy texture of fine tannin finishing with medicinal herbal funky tones. Edging towards the bolder end of the spectrum but stills feels taut and tight. Plays its hand neatly.
