Longview Nebbiolo Rosato 2017

Gold for pink! 2 trophies for best rosé:  2017 Royal Melbourne Wine Awards and the the 2017 National Wine Show of Australia! Completes the triumvirate of Nebbiolo from the Saturno family’s vineyard in Macclesfield. This time, Juno, Queen of the Ancient Roman Gods (A.K.A.Goddess of Heaven, Matrimony and Women and daughter of the all-powerful Saturn, God of Harvest who is represented on the Riserva) graces the label with her favourite peacock.

Longview, Nebbiolo, Rosato, Adelaide Hills, 2017

Fragrant aromas of earthy chalk to give balance to light rind-end watermelon flesh, raspberry and strawberry skin. Absolutely sits right in the groove: restrained (not reticent) fruit of rosewater and raspberry while all the while that chalky undercurrent provides complexity to the peach tea whispers. Mature structure reminds you that this is no play thing. Easy to see what all the fuss is about. Back the truck up.
