Petaluma White Label Pinot Gris 2017

Whole bunch pressed and fermentation in new and old French oak for complexity and stainless steel for retaining pristine fruit.

Petaluma, White Label, Pinot Gris, Adelaide Hills, 2017

The colour contains a hint of brushed gold as a nod to the skins. It’s a little funky on the nose, soapy and full of brown pear (skin, flesh). Some toasty oak nuances give a warm hug to sweet crystal ginger and nutmeg. Not so over oaked that it doesn’t lose vibrancy, (and just maybe swaying to the grigio side of the spectrum), the wine is flavour rich with green apples and brown pears. Finishes with lip smacking appeal. Serious PiG.
