Yelland & Papps, Second Take, Shiraz, Barossa Valley, 2018
Spiced and leafy nose with chunks of raspberry and red plum over easy chocolate with an almost underlying citrus tang. A little toast and yeasty savouriness bring it back to ground. A smooth entry for the medium bodied palate. There’s tension and a primary, rudimentary sense of being. The tannins are fine and tightly knitted together while the delicious herbed, clovey raspberry fruit slides along easily.
