100% Coonawara Cabernet Sauvignon. Spends 18 months in French and American oak: 35% new, 35% 1 year old and 30% older.
Di Giorgio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra, 2016
A full cupboard of Cabernet aromas: Blackberry, blackcurrant, herby bay leaf and dark minty feel while the oak plays its part with cedar and chocolate. Modern styling, medium to full bodied. Bright black fruit front and centre with violets and chocolate over a svelte texture thanks to a low rumbling of tannin, finishing with toasty oak char. Will age nicely.

I think I’ve been there. We have been to so many fabulous wineries in Australia, but this one sounds very familiar to me. 🙂
They are located in the Coonawarra region of South Australia, quite a way east of the state capital Adelaide.
HMMMM. Maybe not then. I have only been to Adelaide once, and I did not go to any wineries there. But It is certainly on the to-do list. That’s for sure. 🙂
