True to modern Australian form, the Jaraman series sees blending from prime regions for the varieties. This time we get the juxtaposition of Clare Valley and Coonawarra.
Taylors, Jaraman, Cabernet Sauvignon, Clare Valley, Coonawarra, 2017
Multi layered and wonderfully dark: Black olive, black currant, blackberry, mint choc, fine ash cand cigar spice, bay, earthy peat, intense vanilla bean. A whiff of high spirit, black cherry liqueur, walnut creme bush tea, musky okaky sweetness. Whew. Medium-Full bodied, but carries itself handsomely: nothing flabby or hollow. Darkly savoury and keenly mineral herb edged, intense and black hearted. Black currant and smoky with gauze sheets of medium fine tannin. The finish carries a tang of acidity. Some toasted and sweet coconutty oak and a touch of heat at the finish are slight distractions from an otherwise well put together wine.,
